Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines









Dipolog City is the capital of Zamboanga del Norte Province which is on the southern part of Mindanao. Dipolog is known for its beautiful orchids and its very delicious sardine industry.  The dialect or language spoken in this beautiful city is Cebuano (Visayan), and English and Tagalog can be spoken and understood as well.  The city has many tourism spots you would surely love to visit and here are some of them. 




 Linabo Climb




 Also known as the Katkat Sakripisyo, this is one spiritual trekking activity wherein people get to walk 3003 Steps to Linabo Peak during the season of Lent, specifically on Good Friday. This is where the Catholic community of the city and the entire province gather to re-enact the death and passion of Christ.


 Sunset Boulevard







 Dipolog is also known for its amazing boulevard that overlooks the sea. This stretches 1.6 kilometers of foreshore area from Barangay Central Purok to Barangay Miputak. It also has facilities like playground park and basketball courts. The sunset boulevard is definitely a tourist destination you wouldn’t want to miss when you are in the city. 
  


Casa Bernedo

A well-known century-old house owned by the Bernedo family where it is developed for the City’s center for culture and arts. This is where the wonderful visual arts and pictures of the history of the city can be found.



Dipolog Fountain




 The Fountain of Blessings is located at Estaka-Turno junction and this symbolizes the different cultures that prevail in the entire city. The fountain represents the tri-people of Mindanao. When you get so see the see it, you will notice that the bowl is raised towards the heavens as a gesture of thanksgiving to the Almighty God for the graces and blessings received, and the bountiful harvest and continued peace and prosperity throughout the city and the entire Zamboanga del Norte province.

Getting to Dipolog City is very easy and convenient. You can simply book your tickets for an airfare anywhere in the Philippines as the city has its own airport. You can also travel by land on a road trip and get to see wonderful scenery going to the city and you can also stop by its neighboring city which is equally beautiful, Dapitan City.
